BEGINNER COMMITTEES

Our beginner committees are recommended for young and / or inexperienced delegates as more orientation will be given by the chairs to help navigate the MUN sessions.
The general theme will be addressing the Global Impact of Organised Crime and Corruption

HUMAN RIGHTS (HR)

  • Topic A: Protecting children from being recruited by gangs and criminal groups.
  • Topic B: The Role of Organised Crime in the Illicit Trafficking of Human Organs.

ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL (EC)

  • Topic A: Addressing the Link Between Drug Cultivation and Environmental Destruction.
  • Topic B: Combating the illicit trade of endangered species and toxic waste.

INTERMEDIATE COMMITTEES

GENERAL ASSEMBLY (GA)

  • Topic A: Corruption in international aid: Ensuring transparency in humanitarian responses.
  • Topic B: War crimes by States, NSA’s, and organised armed groups (terrorists).

Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

Spanish-speaking

  • Topic A: La relación entre el tráfico de armas y el aumento de la violencia urbana transnacional
  • Topic B: Tráfico Ilícito de Armas Ligeras:
  • Enfocado en frenar la proliferación de armas pequeñas en zonas de conflicto y violencia urbana.

Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)

  • Topic A: Addressing the diversion of international aid funds through organised criminal networks
  • Topic B: Corruption in the sports industry: Addressing money laundering and match-fixing in international competitions

ADVANCED COMMITTEES

HISTORICAL COMMITTEE (HC)

Delegates wishing to enrol in this will undergo an interview process to ensure that they will be suitable for the high-level nature of this committee.

  • Topic A: The Global Heroin Trade of the 1970s (Golden Triangle)
  • Topic B: The UN and Transnational Organized Crime in the 1990s

SECURITY COUNCIL (SEC)

  • Topic A: Organised crime as a threat to international peace and security in failed states
  • Topic B: Preventing the misuse of AI by organized crime and extremist groups
